Where do I drop-off devices to donate?

Devices can be donated at participating libraries, Local libraries | North Yorkshire Council

Please drop off donations during the library’s open hours.

What items can be donated?

Any smartphone, tablet or laptop donations would be appreciated, with any chargers or cables where possible. Devices need to be less than 5 years old and in working order when donated.

How can I clear data off my device before donating?

Please see our guides on how to complete a factory reset for Smartphones, Tablets and Laptops. These provide step-by-step instructions on how to clear all data from your devices before donating, if you need help completing a factor reset please contact your local Digital Support Organisation, a list of local trusted partner organisations can be found on our Digital Skills and Support Page.

Can I choose where my donations go?

Donations are distributed based on the needs across North Yorkshire we can guarantee that your donation will benefit residents of North Yorkshire.

How can businesses help?

Businesses can also donate data and/or devices. For enquiries on how to donate larger quantities of devices please contact us 

What if I don’t have any devices to donate?

If you don’t have any devices to donate you can still help. For more information, please see the Other Ways You Can Help page.

Are free devices available to anyone? 

RebootNY devices are prevented from accessing equipment to get online through the open market.  This is why we use a referring partner model.  If you have a someone supporting you such as a carer, support worker, social worker, pastoral lead, youth worker, they can make a request for equipment on your behalf.
